Work Life Balance

To run a business that doesn’t take you directly to the emergency room everyday, it is very important to have a healthy work-life balance. Running a business requires a lot of work and energy. Many times as business owners we don’t take the time to really measure how much time we give into the business as a whole. We get lost in it and we lose sight of all other important things and people in our lives. Having a successful business doesn’t equal neglecting your other priorities. Physical and emotional malnutrition starts when we stress over the inevitable and place all focus on one area of our lives forgetting about the rest. A good balance starts with placing God first. When you give God the place that he deserves in your life, you begin to have more clarity and you begin to walk in a way where you honor him with your self-care (body, mind, spirit) and family care. Your business can’t run without you, so if you’re down, your business will be down too. To keep it up, you must also keep yourself up. We are so blessed to know that running our business requires getting to know God more. The more we know him, the more we allow him to carry our worries and stresses. When we do that, we truly learn the concept of building something that matters for his glory. When God is in it, we need nothing more.

P.S. One of the most important things you can do for your business is to pray for it every day.

Verse of the week:  “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” -Deuteronomy 31:8
