Product Description

This painting is to bring greater awareness to something very close to my heart: those trapped in trafficking. It is a project that took me several months to complete, because it truly mattered to portray this in the right way. I debated (and ultimately scrapped) one aspect of my original concept for quite awhile; as a result of waiting, God inspired the direction of completion.


The background represents the children (and adults) imprisoned in the trafficking world, and their various stages of being found; the lightest color is for those that have been rescued and the hope that the others will be as well. My prayers extend even to those that have perished…that one day their families will receive the closure and peace they deserve from being robbed of their precious ones.


The foreground splatters represent the environs and conditions where the trafficked are located. While there is a deep underbelly in that world, very often these lost ones can be hidden in plain sight, in places of celebration and vacation, or even down the street from where you live. We can help if we are more aware and are willing to be brave enough to stand up for them.


Jesus was very clear about how to treat the “little ones”. You can find His stance in the gospels; here I will mention Matthew’s account. In Matthew 18:1-14, Jesus speaks of how we are to position ourselves in the Kingdom, using a child in the crowd for reference. He then explains the consequence of causing children to stumble; which I feel means EVERY way, not just in their walk with the Lord. Children are to be protected and properly stewarded…He loves them dearly!
