Time to Fish!

A sequel of Fall In!, this painting represents part two of a prophetic dream I had a few months ago. This portion took a bit more time to process and pray through, since several elements were interesting. For one, marshes in general can carry a negative connotation. The pelicans carried the appearance I painted them in, more solid beaks rather than collapsible ones (as in nature). The biggest point, though, was that it was rainy in the dream. In looking at it as a whole, and in tandem with part one, I believe that this setting is indicative of what the environment will be once we begin the great harvest of souls.

The last few months were the rallying cry, and this current and near-future season is where we reap. But with all the exposure and cleansing happening in the Kingdom at present, it’s messy and boggy…like a marsh. However, that combined with the rain is ideal for fishing souls. The verse “pray for rain in the time of rain” (Zec. 10:1) has been in my head the last few weeks. The rain referenced here is “latter rain”, the rain in springtime. The pelicans are known to carry their food in their beaks, but in a spiritual sense, the solid beaks match the armor theme of the eagles in Fall In!; I believe this to mean they will protect what they catch. They are coastal birds, which I feel highlights where the harvest will originate. I chose to paint ten, as the biblical number of law and governing (Exo. 34:28), and there are seven adults and three juveniles, to reflect the co-laboring of generations (vital for the harvest). My hope with this piece is that it inspires and encourages those who feel like they are in a messy battlefield for the Kingdom…that their efforts and intercession will be rewarded!
