Sermon Series – Silencing of the Lambs

As I am updating this series on the persecution of the lambs of God (believers), the words of Jesus come to mind “There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me” (Matthew 24:7-9).

Most Pastors, Bible Teachers believe we are at the closest point when Jesus will return and come for His Church. The Bible speaks of persecution both in the Old Testament and in the New. We see this as those birth-pains Jesus spoke of. We are not in the tribulation, thank God! But we are witnessing the signs of His coming.

When I prepared these messages on persecution, what came to my mind for a title for the series.  I thought of the title from the movie that came out on February 1991, “Silence of the Lambs” staring Anthony Hopkins.

Christians today are being persecuted because of their faith in Jeus Christ worldwide and we see a rise even as I pen this introduction. For believers in Jesus we will  go through some of this persecution in various ways, not all will bear the marks of a Martyr, but we will suffer as Jesus did say.  I like to bless you with this scripture.

Psalm 91:4 (NASB): “He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.”
