This Food Safe cutting board is hand made with the finest Maple, Cherry and Purple Heart hardwoods. The size is 16″ X 10″. The edges of this cutting board have been rounded including inside of the handle. This cutting board is finished on both sides and has been finished with 4 coats of cutting board oil.

The Colors are all natural – no artificial stains or dyes are used.

This cutting board can also be used as a Charcuterie Board to present and serve meats, cheese and veggies. the cutting board can be washed in a sink but should not be placed in a dishwasher.

· Purple Heart

Purpleheart is an incredibly strong and durable type of wood, originating from the Paleogene genus of 23 species of large trees that can be found growing natively on the territory between Mexico and Brazil. It is best known for its amazing grain pattern and a unique color that can rarely be found in other wood types.

Maple

Maple wood is incredibly strong, looks great, and stains nicely. Woodworkers and furniture aficionados gravitate towards maple for its light, creamy color, smooth grain pattern, and impressive durability. Although there are dozens of species of maple trees around the globe, the species most common among American woodworkers is Hard Maple (aka Sugar Maple or Rock Maple).

Cherry

American Cherry is found throughout Midwestern and Eastern U.S. Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and New York. The heartwood of cherry varies from rich red to reddish brown and will darken with age and on exposure to light. In contrast, the sapwood is creamy white. The wood has a straight grain, a fine, uniform, satiny and smooth texture, and naturally may contain brown pith flecks and small gum pockets. Cherry is of medium density with good bending properties, has low stiffness, and medium strength and shock resistance.
