Product Description
The title of this piece was inspired by the passage John 5:1-15, where many disabled people would sit by this pool of water, waiting for it to be stirred by an angel of the Lord. They were hoping for a chance of being healed if they were the first person in after it was stirred each time. One such man waited by that pool for years, having been in his condition for 38 years. One one such occasion, he encountered Jesus, who healed him. While the water was not the means of his healing, it was his proximity to it that opened the door for the miraculous. This painting is a reminder that our proximity determines our outcome, and that we don’t have to compete for our own personal encounter with the Great Healer.
