A Huge Thank You
Hi Beautiful GL Family! I wanted to take this time to thank you for your support towards Galilee Life, not only in the past year, but in the almost five years that God has allowed us to continue with our Marketplace Ministry. You have all been an instrumental part in our financial and most importantly, our spiritual growth. Did you know that as we write our devotionals and reply to prayer requests, God is also working in each of us? He truly is and we cannot be more humbled, blessed, and grateful for it. Here’s to 2023!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DEVOTIONAL
Trials = Refinement
I have learned throughout my years in business that the trials that I have gone through were only used by God to refine me. See, God is our Refiner and He sees beyond our weaknesses and mistakes. God sees our potential. I needed to go through those dark moments and times of desperation so that I would grow, feel ready to charge ahead, and most of all give God the Glory. Everyday is a learning experience so when your spirit is feeling downcast, or when you don’t feel like your day, month, or year started well, before you dwell on the negative, take time away with God. Ask Him to relieve any anxiety, stress, and heaviness from your heart. Ask God what He is trying to teach you. Know that for every blessing there was a price to pay and for every moment of happiness, God already demonstrated what it is to be on the other side of that. When we rewire our minds and hearts to understand that trials = refinement, we are using ‘“our not” so bright moments to understand that it is polishing time. As I am writing this God is showing me the process of a shoe that needs to be polished. In order to get a shoe polished, it has to be cleaned and dusted off, welted (strip of leather that is sewn around the shoe – this is when it hurts, OUCH!), buffed (to remove all excess – more pain), wiped, and then shined (HOORAY!). It is a process that is necessary to achieve the final desired polished look. We need the trials to get God’s desired look in each phase of our lives, so that His purpose may be fulfilled in us. The other side of trials are always refinement. We get to enjoy and laugh through what we once cried through. Isn’t that amazing? That is why when we are in Christ we experience a joy that goes beyond our circumstances, a joy that is not defined by our moments of sadness or happiness. A joy that is consistent throughout our lives because we know where our help comes from. Our help comes from Our Lord, Our God, Our Savior, Our Rescuer, Our Deliverer.
I’m not sure where you are today. This year may be your year of refinement from last year’s trials, or the start of a process that is needed in order to get that beautiful polished look God wants you to have. No matter where you are, experience all things joyfully and ask God to guide you every step of the way. Remember to also allow Him to carry your burdens. You are not alone.
