Happy MLK Day!!!!

Hello Galilee Life Family,

Happy MLK Day!!!! One of the many things that I loved about Martin Luther Kind Jr. was his love for unity, for community and his intelligence and God given wisdom completely on display when delivering a message. His words resonated with such depth when he was alive, but are imprinted in our brains and hearts now that he has passed. See, some may challenge the fact that it was not the right time for Dr. King to leave this world at such a young age, but I counter with, God knew that in his time here on earth he would give and write so much that his purpose when passing would have been fulfilled.

Human trafficking is a huge issue and we are not 100% aware of exact stats, but we do know how much of a negative affect this Big issue has had on many families and young children all over the world. Things to ponder. How can we as a community take action to support organizations that fight the battles that may be invisible in our daily lives, but ever so present in society and in these self-less individuals? #stophumantrafficking

Many Blessings!

Adding and Managing Different Types of Products

Hello Family,

The information below may seem like a lot, but it is in depth information provided by our website host so that you can get the best out of your experience adding and deleting products. These are detailed and step by step instructions that help you navigate our site with ease.

Please do not forget that we are always around for any questions you may have.

Adding a product

Before adding your first product, let’s get familiar with how product categories, tags, and attributes work.

Product Categories

Product categories and tags work in much the same way as normal categories and tags you have when writing posts in WordPress. They can be created, edited, and selected at any time. This can be done when you first create a product or come back and edit it or the category/tag specifically.

These can be added per product, or you can set up global attributes for the entire store to use (e.g., in layered navigation).

To learn more, see: Managing Product Categories, Tags and Attributes

Product Types

With attributes and categories set up and stock management configured, we can begin adding products. When adding a product, the first thing to decide is what type of product it is.

  • Simple – covers the vast majority of any products you may sell. Simple products are shipped and have no options. For example, a book.
  • Variable – a product with variations, each of which may have a different SKU, price, stock option, etc. For example, a t-shirt available in different colors and/or sizes.
  • Grouped – a collection of related products that can be purchased individually and only consist of simple products. For example, a set of six drinking glasses.
  • Virtual – one that doesn’t require shipping. For example, a service. Enabling this, disables all shipping related fields such as shipping dimensions. A virtual product will also not trigger the shipping calculator in cart and checkout.
  • Downloadable – activates additional fields where you can provide a downloadable file. After a successful purchase, customers are given a downloadable file as a link in the order notification email. This is suitable, for example, for a digital album, PDF magazine, or photo.
  • External or Affiliate – one that you list and describe on your website but is sold elsewhere.

Adding a simple product

Adding a Simple product is similar to writing a post in WordPress.

  1. Go to Products > Add Product. You then have a familiar interface and should immediately feel at home.
  2. Enter a product Title and Description.
  3. Go to the Product Data panel, and select downloadable (digital) or virtual (service) if applicable.
WooCommerce Add Product - Familiar Interface

Note: Virtual products don’t require shipping — an order with virtual products won’t calculate shipping costs.

Product data

The Product Data meta box is where the majority of important data is added for your products.

WooCommerce Product Data metabox

General section

  • Price
    • Regular Price – Item’s normal/regular price
    • Sale Price – Item’s discounted price that can then be scheduled for certain date ranges. The sale expires at 11:59pm of the specified end date

Inventory section

The inventory section allows you to manage stock for the product individually and define whether to allow back orders and more. It enables you to sell products and allow customers to add them to the cart to buy.

You are responsible for updating the Stock Status.

  • Enter the Stock Quantity, and it will auto-update Stock Status as Stock, Out of Stock or On Back order.
  • Select whether to Allow Back orders.
  • Low stock threshold – Enter a number upon which you are notified.
  • Tick the Sold Individually box to limit the product to one per order.

Shipping section

  • Weight – Weight of the item.
  • Dimensions – Length, width and height for the item.
  • Shipping Class – Shipping classes are used by certain shipping methods to group similar products.

Linked Products section

Using up-sells and cross-sells, you can cross promote your products. They can be added by searching for a particular product and selecting the product from the drop down list:

WooCommerce Simple Product - Linked Products Tab

After adding, they are listed in the input field:

WooCommerce Simple Product - Linked Product Added

Up-sells are displayed on the product details page. These are products that you may wish to encourage users to upgrade, based on the product they are currently viewing. For example, if the user is viewing the coffee product listing page, you may want to display tea kettles on that same page as an up-sell.

WooCommerce Product Up-Sells

Cross-sells are products that are displayed with the cart and related to the user’s cart contents. As an example, if the user adds a Nintendo DS to their cart, you may want to suggest they purchase a spare stylus when they arrive at the cart page.

Grouping – Used to make a product part of a grouped product.

Attributes section

On the Attributes tab, you can assign details to a product. You will see a select box containing global attribute sets you created (e.g., platform).

Once you have chosen an attribute from the select box, click add and apply the terms attached to that attribute (e.g., Nintendo DS) to the product. You can hide the attribute on the frontend by leaving the Visible checkbox unchecked.

Custom attributes can also be applied by choosing Custom product attribute from the select box. These are added at the product level and won’t be available in layered navigation or other products.

Advanced section

  • Purchase note – Enter an optional note to send the customer after they purchase the product.
  • Menu order – Custom ordering position for this item.
  • Enable Reviews – Enable/Disable customer reviews for this item.

Product short description

Add an excerpt. This typically appears next to product imagery on the listing page, and the long description appears in the Product Description tab.

Product images

Add a main product image and a gallery of images.

Adding a grouped product

A grouped product is created in much the same way as a Simple product. The only difference is you select Grouped from the Product Type dropdown.

WooCommerce Grouped Product - Inventory Tab
To create your parent product select ‘Grouped’ from the Product Type dropdown.

Create the Grouped product

  1. Products > Add New.
  2. Enter a Title for the Grouped product, e.g., Back to School set
  3. Scroll down to Product Data and select Grouped from the dropdown. The price and several other fields disappear. This is normal because a Grouped Product is a collection of ‘child products’, which is where you add this information.
  4. Publish.

The Grouped product is still an empty group. To this Grouped product, you need to:

  • Create products and add them
  • Add existing child products

Having the choice to first create Simple products and add them to a Grouped product later; or first create a Grouped product and add Simple products later gives you flexibility to add Simple products to more than one Grouped product.

Add products to the Group

  1. Products > Add New.
  2. Select the Grouped product you wish to add products to.
  3. Scroll down to Product Data and go to Linked Products.
  4. Select Grouped Products, and search for the product by typing
  5. Click the products you wish to add.
  6. Update
  7. You can drag and drop to reorder the Grouped Products. Once you press Update, the new order will be shown on the product page.

Adding a virtual product

When adding a Simple product, you can tick the Virtual checkbox box in the product type panel.

With Variable products this checkbox is moved to each variation.

Enabling this, disables all shipping related fields such as shipping dimensions. A virtual product will also not trigger the shipping calculator in cart and checkout.

Adding a downloadable product

When adding a simple product, you can click the Downloadable checkbox box in the product type panel. This adds two new fields:

  • File path — Path or url to your downloadable file.
  • Download limit – Limit on number of times the customer can download file. Left blank for unlimited downloads.
For maximum flexibility, downloadable products also incur a shipping cost (if, for example, you were offering both a packaged and a downloadable version of a product, this would be ideal). You can also check the Virtual box if the downloadable product is not to be shipped.

Adding an external/affiliate product

Select ‘External/Affiliate’ from the product type dropdown. This removes unnecessary tabs, such as tax and inventory, and inserts a new product URL field. This is the destination where users can purchase the product. Rather than Add to Cart buttons, they see a Read More button directing them to this URL.

Adding a variable product

Variable products are arguably the most complex of product types. They let you define variations of a single product where each variation may have a different SKU, price or stock level.

Deleting a product

To delete a product:

  1. Go to: Products.
  2. Find the product you wish to delete.
  3. Hover in the area under the Product name and click Trash.

Allow Backorders

Select whether to allow Backorders from the dropdown, if you are managing stock on a product.

To allow backorders, the Stock status must be set to In Stock even though the Stock Quantity is 0 or less.

Many Blessings,

Your Galilee Life Family.

How To Create Downloadable Products

Hi Family,

We are now able to support downloadable products that may include, but are not limited to: digital books, schedules, diet plans, devotionals and so forth. We hope to provide you with more flexibility to sell additional services you may offer and open a door of opportunity for you to sell your digital items with ease.

Please reach out to our team at any time with any questions regarding the information below and/or suggestions for future resources.

Downloadable Simple Products

To get started:

  1. Go to: Products > Add Product to add a new Simple product.
  2. Click the Downloadable checkbox.Creating A Digital Download ProductAfter clicking this box, other options appear: Downloadable Files, Download Limit, Download Expiry.
We  support multiple files per product!

Product Data - General - Downloadable Files

  3. Select the Add file button, and then name the file. Enter the downloadable URL if it’s hosted elsewhere, or select the Choose file button to either insert an existing file from your Media Library or to Upload a new file. Upload the file and click Insert to set up each downloadable file URL. Match the URL of the product to the URL of your site. (i.e., if you have a www in your site URL, then make sure that is in the file URL.)
  4. Enter the Download Limit (optional). Once a user hits this limit, they can no longer download the file.
  5. Enter the Download Expiry. If you define a number of days, download links expire after that.
  6. Save.

Downloadable Variations

Variable products can also have downloadable variations. When adding a variation click the Downloadable checkbox and more options appear.

Variation Downloads

Options work the same as regular products: Set the file path, optionally choose a download limit and expiry, and save.

Combining downloadable and virtual products

If you click the Downloadable checkbox, products can have stock and are treated as physical products. This allows you to sell downloads and real products together.

If you want to add/sell a downloadable product that is not physical, also enable the Virtual option.

Our team hopes this information is helpful.

Many Blessings Family.

Goals For The Year 2020

Hi Family,

As I sit here, I think about all of the times that I have sat down either at the end of the year or beginning of a new one. Each time without any exception, I am full of expectations. Expectations that I will fulfill all of my dreams and aspirations for this brand. We at Galilee Life have so many dreams and goals, but decided that this year, we will tackle them one at a time and with caution. By caution, we mean, walking doing the best we can to do things with God’s word in mind and learning to be sensitive to his voice and what he wants us to do. We don’t always see or understand God, but it is without fail that he speaks to us daily and never ceases to lead us in the right direction. For 2020, our goals are simple:

  1. Develop a deeper relationship with Christ
  2. Develop a deeper connection with our family in Christ
  3. Work not only harder but smarter
  4. Show love where ever we go, knowing that we can always make a difference
  5. Stay true to our brand and our vision

A goal without a plan is just a wish that you can never be sure will come true. Try to set attainable goals that you can stick to. Sometimes you can have a list of about five goals and within those five goals, there are actionable steps that must be taken to bring them to completion. A way not to get overwhelmed is by focusing on one important goal at a time and taking the time to research and figure out ways to get your goal accomplished. I hear this saying a lot: “Keep your dreams and goals to yourself” , I say, share them with confidence and talk about them constantly so that you do not forget that you still have work to do. Ways that can help you stay encouraged and working through your goals:

  1. Surround yourself with positive people
  2. Find individuals that you look up to and find ways to get mentored by them (Don’t be afraid to send them a message or grab their books and materials)
  3. Make your goals visible –  If that is your closet? write them out on a piece of a paper and stick them on that exact wall, so that when you open that closet door, you are able to see these. If you also need to cut out pictures of what your life can look like to complete that step, that goal, do that.
  4. Bring your goals into your everyday life. Keep them present, and keep them constantly on your mind and heart’s reach.

Make this 2020 year the best year yet by taking it a day at a time, but not sleeping on your important goals. Don’t miss out on all that God has for your life because you are only concentrating on the areas that you feel need your full attention, now. When you take the time to spread out your daily goals and goals that you have a whole year to reach, always remember that if your farther to reach goals will satisfy a longing in your heart, they are equally as important as your immediate needs and wants. Just spare a little a day to work on them and never forget to keep them present.

God bless you! We love you!

Be Committed To Jesus Christ

Hello Family,

Please follow @galileelifeinspirations on Instagram for daily encouragement and word of God.

Make sure of your commitment to Jesus Christ, and seek to follow Him every day. Don’t be swayed by the false values and goals of this world, but put Christ and His will first in everything you do.” – Billy Graham

God’s thoughts and purpose transcend anything we could ever dream of. He understands and knows the desires that our hearts carry, but His will is above it all. He has each day of our lives stamped in His book. He knows what we need. His plan is perfect. His purpose is perfect. His will is perfect. We will never go wrong seeking and following Him.
We’d like to pray for you.

Will you send us a message with your prayer request? We are here for you. Email us directly at ?

We pray that God blesses each and everyone of you in abundance.

Your Galilee Life Family.

Pray continually. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

– God listens. He is always present. As his word reminds us, “I will never leave you or forsake you,” it becomes more evident once we enter his sweet presence. It is where we lay our burdens, afflictions, and fears. It is where we find rest.

Need prayer? Going through a situation that you feel uncertain about and need guidance? We are here for you. If the situation is bigger than our help, we will help find what you need. We love you. You are not alone.

How To Be Intentional With Your Customers

Hello Family!

We are delighted to kick off our blog with an exciting topic! How to be intentional with your customers whether the item you are selling is handmade, personally designed or bought directly from a manufacturer ……  As an entrepreneur, it is good to know your clientele, learn their likes and dislikes. First impressions are the best and most resonating ones, so try to make it count.

Being an intentional vendor matters so much! Many of us forget that a customer is not just a customer, he or she has the potential of becoming a lifelong partner. There are customers that would never deviate from their preferred shop, not only because they know they will receive the items they like, but because of the way they are treated with every transaction. It is important to not only sell and send an item off, it is important to be intentional about your offering. Do you want a one-time customer, or a returning customer? Many would answer a returning customer, of course! Well if that is the case, then it will take work, but most of all a loving and caring heart.

  1. Package your items nicely and delicately.
  2. Find ways to add a little extra gift.
  3. Buy a card and express your appreciation for their purchase, or better yet, hand write your sentiments.
  4. Ship your items as quickly as you can, remember that a customer is waiting on the other end in anticipation to receive your product.
  5. Lastly, always check up on them, ask them what they thought about your product, not just for a review, but a way for you to record the what you could’ve done better. “Constructive criticism” is always in parallel with “good advice”.
